Article by Simon Oates

Obama is without doubt one of the most effective leaders we have seen so far this century, and is already well on his way to becoming the contender for ‘leader of the century’. The hype behind this man is huge, the media coverage at an almost obsessive level – but yet there is a significant amount of sincerity in the voices of his followers.

So how did such a man become the President of the United States of America? How has he succeeded at creating a leadership style that seems to appeal to more than just the ‘middle’ of America, but also the divided sides?

The answer is all down to his leadership style – which I will breakdown into the following 4 areas in this article:

AuthorityPresentationCharismaIntegrity

** Authority **

While Obama is considered ‘young’ as far as presidential hopefuls go, he still managed to win the trust of a fickle nation. Firstly, let me clarify that Barrack is by no means a young man at the age of 48, and this is displayed cleary in his body language.

Barrack despite being younger had clear authority over his rivals. This was because he was perceived as (and indeed is) being an intelligent individual with sound rational thought and wide knowledge of international affairs.

** Presentation **

Barrack Obama presents himself in a respectful and calm manner. This has the effect of enhancing his authority – but also generates more listeners. Leaders attract followers, they don’t entrap them or somehow force them to listen. Those people are managers. Listeners prefer listening to those who aren’t shouting or screaming for attention. Obama’s calmness, patience and friendly presentation of himself therefore attracts followers.

** Charisma **

Now, modern authors will emphasise that charisma is not a necessary trait of a great leader. While I agree with this point – it’s beyond refute that Obama’s skill as an orator have helped him to not only catch the public eye, but to retain it, and earn it’s trust.

** Integrity **

And a key part of winning that trust is by demonstrating integrity. All presidential campaigns engage in a level of ‘dirt flinging’ and by that, I refer to them bringing up and highlighting the weaknesses in the other parties decisions or character. While McCain campaign certainly delivered some negative messages in their expensive TV slots – their message was always rather shallow, because they failed to find a single instance where Obama had shown a blatant disregard for honesty and the truth.

These 4 elements form part of the leadership style that Obama has developing over the last decade, I turn to you now and ask, which, if any of these characteristics do you believe you demonstrate strongest in your day to day life? Now ask yourself, which characteristics do you believe that others see strongest in you?

You may come to the realisation that perhaps if you share a particularly brilliant trait with the greats – others may not see it due to the way you are making choices in your day to day life. A moral and ethic person could for instance, be driven to selling rip-off products to vulnerable citizens because they fear their house may be repossessed if they lost their source of income.

Our day-to-day choices may often feel restricted and limited. And in many cases they are. But when you step back and look long term – every individual reading this article has the opportunity to SCULPT their path through life. The clone employee sat in a box office who dreams of working for themselves as a kitchen fitter, or the barmaid who sees herself on stage everytime she closes her eyes, do have the power to reach their goals in the long term, if they start making the right choices right now.

Bradenton, Florida (PRWEB) February 21, 2012

In honor of the Discovery Channels hit reality TV Show GOLD RUSH People at Play: The Heavy Equipment Experience in Bradenton, Florida, is offering up the GOLD RUSH Package where individuals can dig for gold with a CATERPILLAR 312 Excavator at Floridas only construction playground. GOLD RUSH, in its second season, airs on the Discovery Channel on Friday nights at 9 PM and features the trials and tribulations of three crews in the Alaskan Klondike digging with heavy equipment in search of gold. Each crew uses excavators to unearth pay dirt which they hope is rich with gold.

The GOLD RUSH Package includes a safety and machine orientation and equipment time operating a CATERPILLAR 312 Steel Track Excavator. Three large bars of concrete which are painted gold — are buried in our not-so-frozen tundra, for individuals to dig up during their adventure. This one hour experience is reasonably priced at $ 275.00 (+tax) per person. The GOLD RUSH Package is available on select dates now until April 15, 2012.

If youre a fan of Gold Rush you know that Jack Hoffmans beloved 400 (an old orange Hitachi 400 excavator) plays an important role at the Quartz Creek mine and that Dakota Fred (AKA Big Boot) is the guy excavating the pay dirt at Porcupine Creek. Our favorite personality of GOLD RUSH has to be the 17-year-old miner and high school senior, Parker Schnabel. Parker also runs our favorite excavator on the show, a nice big CATERPILLAR 330 at the Big Nugget mine, where he has been working with his grandfather virtually all of his life.

People at Play is an experiential adventure program that allows participants to run heavy construction equipment such as excavators, skid steer loaders and bulldozers in a fun construction site environment. The entire experience is themed like a day on a construction site, where every participant has to clock-in, wear a hard hat and a visibility vest. All participants are required to successfully complete a safety and equipment training orientation (in the job site trailer) prior to their time operating new CAT excavators, skid steer loaders and bulldozers.

Packages are also available so individuals can join the crew at People at Play priced from $ 395.00 (+tax) for two hours to $ 1,575.00 (+tax) for a full-day program including a boxed lunch. All participants must be aged 18 and over. Individuals must pre-register and book their packages based on scheduled work days. For reservations and booking information call (941) 756-0886 or visit http://www.comeplayinthedirt.com.

Big Sandy, TX (PRWEB) February 19, 2012

From the seed of a fateful medical diagnosis five decades ago, an innovative company built on dedication to the purity found in nature has grown to become the leader in the vitamin E industry.

The A.C. Grace Company, makers of UNIQUE E? and other complementary vitamin E products, was founded in 1962 by Roy Erickson, a leading sales professional whose fast-paced career was abruptly interrupted at age 53 by not onenot two but three heart attacks in the same year.

Handed what amounted to a death sentence by his doctors, Erickson applied the same determination and energy to finding a solution that he had applied to his sales career. The son of a physician, and a pharmaceutical representative with three years medical school training of his own, Erickson produced research that suggested the dietary benefits of vitamin E.

After formulating his own product, Erickson not only used it to supplement his own diet, but he established the A.C. Grace Company so that he could share it with others.

That product, UNIQUE E?, remains unparalleled in the vitamin E industry.

Our product is the natural form of vitamin E, not the synthetic form found in many stores today, said Scott Smith, Director Marketing/Operations. We believe in purity.

That natural form is obtained through the companys proprietary processes that enable them to extract only pure vitamin E oil from natural sources.

From the beginning, Erickson sought to share his knowledgeand his productwith professionals in the medical field. Because of this, A.C. Grace is held in high esteem by physicians and other health practitioners around the world.

For 50 years, A. C. Grace Company has been providing doctors and consumers with products that are the standard in the vitamin E industry, said Smith. Our multi-E scientists and doctors understand the synergy of evidence-based science along with application-based science for a powerful perspective in achieving maximum benefit through supplementation and topical application.

In recent years, A.C. Grace has expanded its product line to include vitamin E supplements in alternate forms, along with skin creams, moisturizers and other products designed to provide natural benefits for supporting common physical health goals like cardiovascular wellness, healthy cellular membrane function and integrity, and many other aspects of whole health.

Roy Erickson lived 40 vigorous and energetic years after that fateful diagnosis in 1962, all of which were dedicated to sharing his knowledge and belief in the benefits of pure, natural vitamin E with the world.

A.C. Grace Company continues to share that mission and expand Roys vision to consistently provide our customers with products that show promising benefits to the body when taken correctly, in the correct dosage and for the right reasons.

A.C. Grace Company, located in Big Sandy, Texas, was founded by Roy Erickson in 1962. The company manufactures UNIQUE E?, the purest form of natural vitamin E available today, and a complete line of complementary vitamin E products. Complete information is available at http://www.acgrace.com.

Energy-saving appliances is not absolute “energy conservation” Members of the public to buy energy-saving appliances to learn more to learn to use energy-saving appliances Today, went to the home appliance sales season, as people’s awareness of energy conservation, many people will choose when buying household appliances energy-saving products. However, whether labeled “energy saving” the appliances really “saving” it? Whether the higher energy efficiency energy saving appliances more what? Members of the public purchase and use of appliances which issues should pay attention to saving what can be done really? The public will buy energy efficient products 10, came to the city’s stores and found several large appliances, refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, TVs and other appliances are posted on the “Energy Efficiency Labeling.” According to a talking head appliance shopping, major air-conditioning, refrigerator, washing machine brand 1, two models accounted for high energy efficiency ratio absolute superiority, high energy consumption of traditional CRT television is almost always replaced by flat-panel TV. Manufacturers now attach great importance to the development and promotion of energy saving products, energy efficiency of the public interest more and more now. However, energy-saving home appliances than the situation much blitz, some energy saving water dispenser, induction cooker, water heater and other small appliances are-loved. According to sources, a home appliance store, the current energy-saving home appliances into the sale of only two or three, “the one hand, energy-saving home appliances worth more than the non-energy-saving 50% more expensive than normal, but the state has not introduced preferential subsidies related to energy efficiency Many people consider uneconomical. ” The higher the EER the more power is not Now to the appliance sales season, when almost all major manufacturers in marketing, will play the “energy” brand. However, whether all of the energy-saving products are really saving it? Head of a household electrical appliance stores, said the power of individual manufacturers, the technology, financial strength, there was no advantage in the “energy saving” enthusiastic play the “edge ball” concept by means of confusion to confuse consumers. For example, some brands that have a number of energy-saving technologies, energy saving and other reasons, consumers should not only consider the number of energy-saving technologies will depend on whether the energy-saving effect of the experimental data. Meanwhile, some promoters strongly recommend saving to the consumer a product, in fact, energy efficiency is not absolute, is not the highest energy level of the products on the most power in their daily lives. For example, the refrigerator and the refrigerator daily power consumption is not only the effective volume, but also with the use of the environment, the number of times the door opened, the number of memory items and many other factors, not fully have the final say by the EER. Proper use of energy-saving appliances to energy-saving Whether to buy energy-saving appliances can do it really saving? This is usually to use the public also has a lot. At present, many families in the household appliances are in “standby energy” state, even in the off state, as long as the power plug not pulled out most of home appliances but also power consumption. In general, the refrigerator should be reduced by the number switch, shortening the time for each door; refrigerator storage of food should not be too full, the food and food between the wall and the box should be left between the gap of more than 100 mm to facilitate the refrigerator cold air convection, reducing power consumption. Air conditioning in choosing the most appropriate time to consider the number of room-sized piece, an air-conditioning for 12 square meters, 1.5 air-conditioning for 18 square meters, 2 for 28 square meters, 2.5 for 40 square meters. Summer air-conditioning temperature set at 26 ? to 28 ?, This is the most appropriate body temperature, it is real to energy saving.

With the economy slowing and more people facing mortgages and property taxes they can’t afford, knowing more about buying tax-foreclosed property in Texas may give you and your clients an edge.

Texas laws provide two ways investors can obtain an interest in delinquent tax property. First, when a taxing unit, like a county or school district files suit and receives a judgment foreclosing its tax lien on a property for delinquent taxes, the unit will sell the property at public auction. The law requires the sheriff to sell real property taken under court order at a public auction at the county courthouse, unless the court orders the sale to occur at the property itself. Tax sales take place on the first Tuesday of the month between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The officer conducting the sale gives a deed to the person purchasing the property. The purchaser’s deed vests good and perfect title in the purchaser, subject only to the owner’s right of redemption, recorded restrictive covenants running with the land and valid easements of record as of the date of sale. The law allows the owners of foreclosed homesteads, agricultural land and mineral interests to redeem their property within two years of the date the purchaser’s deed is filed after the auction. All other property may be redeemed within six months of date the deed is filed.

Because each county conducts its own tax sales throughout the year, investors should contact the county tax assessor-collector for a list of tax foreclosed properties. A good Web site to view a list of the county tax assessor-collectors is at the Texas Department of Transportation’s Web site.

Second, a delinquent taxpayer can, by agreement, permit another to pay property taxes for the taxpayer. If the agreement provides and meets the requirements of Section 32.06, Property Tax Code, the person who pays the taxes acquires a tax lien against the property. Neither the state nor local taxing units sell tax lien certificates. The law requires a person to file a sworn (notarized) document with the tax collector stating the authorization to pay the property owner’s taxes, naming the person to pay the taxes, and describing the property subject to the imposed taxes. Investors might want to consult with an attorney for assistance in preparing this document. The investor may charge the property owner an annual interest rate not greater than 18 percent per year on the taxes, penalties, interest, and recording expenses paid to acquire and record the lien.

Often times, properties do not sell at the initial tax foreclosure auction. Then, one of the taxing units that were owed taxes takes the property in trust. The law allows the taxing unit that holds the foreclosed property to sell the property at any time, subject to any right of redemption by the former owner at the time of sale. The rules for the foreclosed property’s resale are the same as the initial public auction ??” with one difference. The officer conducting the sale has discretion on bids â?” to reject bids that in his or her judgment are insufficient and to accept any bid that is deemed sufficient. There is no minimum bid as with the initial public auction.

In addition, the law permits a taxing unit to resell foreclosed property at a private sale. Under a private sale, the taxing unit may not sell the property for less than the market value specified in the judgment or the total amount of judgments against the property, whichever is less, without the consent of the other taxing units entitled to proceeds of the sale.

Helping people buy a, or prevent Foreclosure can be fun and rewarding for the agent and the client, it is however important to know and study the real estate being purchased or sold.

Despite today turmoil, America is still a dream land. That’s why a poor from any continent or country will leave, when possible, his culture, his friends and his land to embrace the American dream. That’s why a Mexican will risk his life in the desert, escaping snakes, braving heat to reach America. For the same reason, young people sensing some potentials in them will leave their country to try their luck and forge a destiny made of wealth and happiness.

When people fear for their safety, they chose America for safe heaven. In America, they might go from nothing to realising their dreams. When people are facing starvation, they dream to get to America to escape hunger. When academics face no recognition at home, they dream to get to America to be recognized as such. And in America they will be valued, they will enhance all their potentials and they will transform the country.

By helping people from any corner of the world to realise their dreams, America has benefited also from an unquestionable loyalty and patriotism from the people It has welcomed.

These people made America a home. They kept alive the dream and they worked hard to pass the flame to their posterity. Unlike other countries, America host not only people from around the world but integrate them and Americanize their emotions, their energies…All try hard to secure the benefits of freedom, wealth for themselves and for future generations.

This year, we are living another aspect of the American dream: Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton. The first is young, first time senator, campaigning against the bulldozer Hillary Clinton whose husband defeated George Bush in presidential elections.

The second is a lady trashing polls prognostics and forcing history to become the first president in a country dominated by men.

For the first time, we are having someone who will not mention participation to the Vietnam war as political gain. For the first time, after years, we are having someone who will not claim a name or experience to support his political ambitions. What does Obama represent for the American dream today? Does he re-actualize the dream? Yes. How?

This year preliminary elections give us a tango on America ability to rock on the thematic history of dream. Will Hillary become the first President woman in America? Will Obama become the first black President? We agree that not voting for Hillary only because of her gender is a political and intellectual regression. Also, not voting for Obama because he is black is degenerating as well.

Saying that, last week after watching the New Hampshire elections, I decided to visit Chapters indigo in Toronto to purchase books on Obama and Hillary. I wanted to do some quality reading on the two candidates. My deception and choc was to find that Obama did not have one book on the shelves, while Hillary had several every where… I really like the two candidates because they are coming to shake our cultural and political habits: a woman running for President, a black running for President. I wanted to read by myself their political thoughts.

CLEAR TALK AND CLEAR THINKING…CLEAR ACTIONS.

Obama amazes by his candor. He has clear talk and there is no doubt that what is thought clearly can be said also clearly. During this campaign we heard some revelations from the two candidates on key issues within the Senate. In 2001. Hillary voted for a Bankruptcy bill. During the primaries campaign, she said that she was happy that the Bill did not pass. Hillary has also revealed that Obama had received money for his campaign for a corrupt mécène. Later on, Obama refunded the $ 40.000 by giving the money to a charity organisation. This hot exchange in South Carolina has shown that politicians can say one thing and its contrary. It raises the question accountability and ethics in governance. Lack of ethics in governance is more often at the basis of bad governance for which no country in the world is immunised!

Our hope is to have a president who has clear talk, clear thinking and strong ethics in governance. America needs a president of clear actions based on clear talks, thinking and solid ethics.

LANGUAGE OF FEAR IN POLITICS.

In one of his speech in Dillon, Obama said that people judgement has been misguided by fear : fear of immigrants, fear of the difference. Whites are afraid of blacks, vice-versa. Politicians have exploited this to suit their interests. Language of fear is exclusive. It opposes races, regions, states, privileges…Obama’s win in Iowa has shown clearly that America is in search of someone who does not exploit differences for his interests. His victory also in South Carolina shows also that he is able to build a coalition going behind races, group age, gender and by doing so he is giving to America its place under the sun and in the world. Clearing the language of fear, he is proposing the language of hope, clarity and proactive actions. In Carolina, he was surrounded by youth from various ethnic background ready of offer a clear historic choice to America: a new young and fresh politician who happens to be black.

BBC’s Kevin Connely in Coumbia, South Carolina recalled an old vietnamese saying « It’s what makes a transformational election. This is something different. He’s not a fringe candidate, he’s a mainstream candidate. He has lit this country on fire, he has inspired this country. Every place you go, he is turning out crowds that Hillary Clinton cannot match, that Edwards cannot match. It’s magical and it’s wonderful for the country and for the world 1»

OBAMA OR THE RETURN OF POLITICS AS IDEOLOGY

For years, Politics has been an exciting area where ideology was coming to meet practice. Politicians, according to Plato, where people to govern the state with a flavour of Ideology made for the common good. This perception made politics likable till the advent of merchant politicians. Merchant politicians are reach people who do politics to keep their privileges and to safeguard the status quo. French Revolution succeeded to overthrow this way of doing politics. Then, this century’s bourgeoisie brought it back with new riches in politics. The 68 Movement shaked the world reminding the rich of the values of freedom, equity and fairness. Obama echoes the May Movement with its language of ideology, vertu, hope and dream for a better world when youth aims at higher than materialism, divisions and ecclectims.

Obama ca win elections and become US president. He has a credible chance to win. If he wins, he will transform America and its dream will be fresh as ever in a multicultural society. Hillary also has a credible chance to win elections. In either way, voting for Obama or Hillary will top up the american dream. It is an enormous change in the direction of post-modernism. It will reveal what makes the strength of America: hope and change.

Obama is draining youth in politics in numbers. He made the population to get interested into politics. When someone brings politics as ideology, no matter his race, age or political affiliation any man of good faith and common sense can identify with.

Lenexa, KS (PRWEB) February 11, 2012

Digital signage is going mainstream as a medium. Simply look around in retail stores, shopping malls, arenas, gas stations, hotel lobbies, restaurants, and just about any other place you can image, a consumer is bound to see one or more digital signs.

However, even though digital signs are growing in popularity, they are likely to be a rather new medium for the majority of media creators, like graphic designers and animators, which many marketing managers turn to to create compelling content and achieve communications goals.

Of course, larger businesses with in-house graphic artists possessing expertise in the design of brochures, reports and other printed collateral will likely tap into talented staff to develop social content. However, many business prefer to outsource such creative endeavors, working with a creative agency that specializes in television commercials and advertising. Regardless, both are creative, talented and have an abundance of knowledge and experience to bring to the table. The challenge for marketing managers is communicating the unique demands of digital signage content to them and directing them so they deliver the message that progressive businesses need.

Following some or all of the recommendations on this handy checklist should help focus a creative teams talent regardless of their prior experience, or lack of experience, in creating a digital signage portfolio.

????Clearly state what you wish to accomplish. Explain precisely how the signs are to be used. Will they be informational in nature? Do you want to sell a product or service with the signs? Is the communication mission straightforward like that of a menu board or more nuanced?

????Define your target audience. Layout as much demographic information, i.e. age, sex, ethnic background, and psychographic information, including interests, attitudes and opinions, of your intended viewers as possible.

????Identify where the sign or signs will be located. Giving your creative team this information will inform decisions they make later about the appearance, placement and dwell time of content they will create.

????Explain desired quality. In todays world, it is hard to imagine that the display or displays to be used wont be HDTVs. But even if thats the case, will they be 720p, 1080i or even 1080p displays? That information will be helpful when content is created and may reduce the need for up, down or cross conversion of video, graphics and animation content.

????Visual SPAM. Because digital signage is becoming more common, the level of visual noise is also increasing. This should be considered along with the sensibilities of the target demographic. Work with your designers in creating a pleasing visual environment that will be more readily received by a discerning audience. Avoid excessive in-your-face content that may wax against the shopping experience by overloading the senses. Too much eye candy is not a good thing it can give eye pain.

????Define duration. On a macro level, your messaging will be used for a finite period before it must be updated or changed entirely. On a micro level, individual pieces of content will dwell on the screen before being updated by the next item in the list. Information about both will help your team in creating content that can accomplish its communications task in the allotted time on screen as well as give the team a way to begin building a workable content production schedule.

????Discuss the number of onscreen zones desired. Start out by giving your team an idea of how many discrete areas of onscreen real estate you envision to communicate your message and what you believe should be communicated in each. Dont consider this the last word on the topic. Rather use your list as a point of departure to discuss and ultimately define how many zones actually will be used.

????Identify existing content resources. While you will want your content to be fresh, engaging and designed to meet your communications goals, there is no sense reinventing the wheel when existing resources can be used or repurposed. For example, if you intend to communicate to owners of high performance cars as they wait in a car dealers service area, an existing RSS feed of Formula One, Indy Car and NASCAR race results and news might be available already for an onscreen crawl.

Whether or not graphic designers are experienced with digital signage, they will appreciate the guidance marketing managers give by discussing the items in the checklist. More importantly, reviewing the points in the checklist will help ensure marketing managers receive the content they need to achieve their communications goals.

###
